I’m not new to training. This isn’t my first rodeo, as they say! I’ve developed multiple training materials and workshops, and led 3-day, 5-day and full-week trainings in 9 different countries.
Hope For One // 2019-2023
The big-picture goal was to develop a locally sustainable training program best-suited for developing countries around the world. It was also my goal to effectively work myself out of a job so that once trainers were trained, my on-site presence wouldn’t be necessary anymore. (FYI - I achieved that goal, which of course was bitter-sweet because it was incredibly enjoyable and satisfying work.) I developed the following 3 levels of on-site training:
Level 1: Basic Training. This was the 101 basic level of understanding what a ‘Hope Club’ evangelistic kids program was, how it operated and how the provided curriculum was best taught. Myself and a small team were present for training.
Level 2: Next-Level Training. Once a church had started a ‘Hope Club’ Sunday School program and had a good handle on the basics, Level 2 was added as a follow up and included additional teaching content. I led Level 2 trainings on my own.
Level 3: Trainer Training. From the pool of volunteers who had already been involved in running a ‘Hope Club’ Sunday School program for some time, natural leaders emerged. Those leaders were invited to join a trainer team and taught how to train others with the Level 1 and Level 2 content. I led Level 3 trainings on my own.
I led training on-site in Zambia, Togo, Uganda and Tanzania.
What also became apparent was the need to provide Level 1 and Level 2 training online. For that project I was responsible for adapting and copywriting all training content so it could be used for animated videos and made available online and via WhatsApp.

Metro // 2008-2018
During my time as Director of Education and Training I worked hard to develop a clear training syllabus and create multiple resources for an already-established 4-month internship program:
1. Hardcore Training: A week long intensive introductory training to the principles of a ‘Metro’ style Sunday School program. This included more than 25 workshops, demonstrations and coaching sessions.
2. Intern Classes: A once a week 1.5 hour class breaking down how to research and write lessons from scratch. There were also a variety of other assignments: A book study, a group lesson writing project, a skills test oral presentation and a written exam.
I oversaw training in various international locations, and led training on-site in Kenya, India and Peru.
I also created a second internship track, called L.E.V.E.L. 2, which focused on administrative tasks and leadership development.
