Kids Ministry Idea: Have a Wacky Tacky Dress Up Day.

Do: have a Wacky Tacky Dress Up Day! What do a feather boa, a pair of pajama bottoms, one very long striped tube sock and a Hawaiian shirt have in common? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, which is why they were perfect decorations for this day. Seriously, Wacky Tacky is really easy to pull off because literally EVERYTHING is RANDOM and none of it has to make SeNsE.
3 SUPER SUGGESTIONS:
Do: have a fashion ‘show-off’ with the kids. Any time kids can show off their silliness and get celebrated for it is a win. You’ll want to delegate some space for a runway and of course you’ll need some killer EDM beats for your runway-ees to really get into things.
Do: encourage randomness and fun, strutting and dancing. Handstands and flips are also great. As you can see in the photo above, our fashion ‘show-off’ included some break-dance style handstands and we were all here for it. I mean, look at everyone’s faces. We also had large numbered flash cards so we could score each strut. (Just for the record, everyone scored a full 10/10 points, as they all should.)
Do: make a crown for the winners. If the dollar store isn’t already your BFF then what are you waiting for?! String! Glitter! Stickers! Pipe cleaners! Get creative and make a crown-of-wackiness (or multiple crowns, there are no rules here).
BONUS IDEA: have a dress up trunk-of-funk for 1st time kids, those who forgot and dressed all normal and for those adults who need a little extra help accessorizing.
